Update as of April 18, 2026: public reporting still points to an accelerated transfer of power in the first week of May, but I do not see a locked-in May 5 appointment yet.
AP-sourced reporting on April 15 said President Tamas Sulyok told Peter Magyar that the new government could take power in the first week of May. That keeps May 5 plausible, but not confirmed.
